Smoke detector heads right outside the bathroom doors in hotels, with a cheeky little sign to say they're very sensitive to steam.

Makes me so paranoid as I've seen it happen to some poor bloke who'd set the alarms off after a shower.

Apps and web UI that uses side swipe gestures, but is overly sensitive. Using your thumb to scroll up/down slightly off of true vertical causes it to swipe to the next page / item.

Looking at you, BBC News app.

People who say times like "7am in the morning", or "4pm in the afternoon".

People who have phone conversations on speakerphone, holding it out in front of their face.

I blame the decrease in the use of landlines in the modern world.

The YouTube TV app. You're coming to the end of a video and open the comments to see what other people were saying or to read the description. If you don't press any buttons for a few seconds the sidebar closes and the next video starts playing, meaning you constantly having to press up and down to keep it open as you read.

People who say they're "at a crossroads" when having to make a decision. That implies you have 3 choices - including going straight ahead, carrying on as you were.

Hotel air conditioning that doesn't work as you'd expect - like if it's in the wrong mode (eg only heating in the middle of summer), has restrictions that don't go cool enough, resets itself (especially overnight), or just doesn't work.
